DC @ Chicago

Wizard World Chicago DC line-up.

Next week, members of the DC Comics staff and talent community will be heading for Wizard World Chicago, set to start on Friday, August 13. DC guests scheduled to appear at the convention include:

•J. Scott Campbell (DANGER GIRL)
•Geoff Johns (THE FLASH, JSA, TEEN TITANS)
•Jim Lee (SUPERMAN, BATMAN)
•Jeph Loeb (SUPERMAN/BATMAN, BATMAN) (tentative)
•Ethan Van Sciver (BATMAN/CATWOMAN: TRAIL OF THE GUN)
•Carlos Pacheco (ARROWSMITH, SUPERMAN/BATMAN)

Led by DC President & Publisher Paul Levitz, staff from DCU Editorial will include VP — Editorial Dan DiDio, Group Editor Eddie Berganza, and Senior Editors Matt Idelson and Peter Tomasi. Editors from WildStorm will include Executive Editor Scott Dunbier, and from VERTIGO will be Editor Jonathan Vankin and Assistant Editor Pornsak Pichetshote.

DC’s Direct Sales staff will be on hand to greet comics retailers, and will include VP — Sales & Marketing Bob Wayne, Director — Sales & Marketing Communications Patricia Jeres, Manager — Events & Retailer Services Fletcher Chu-Fong, Manager — Marketing Services Matt Keller, Manager — Direct Sales Vince Letterio, Assistant Manager — Direct Sales Stuart Schreck, Representative — Direct Sales Mike Scigliano, and Representative — Events & Retailer Services Vinnie Costa.

Executive Director — Editorial Administration Jack Mahan and Manager — Editorial Contract Administration Lawrence Ganem will be at the convention as well, along with Publicity Director David Hyde. In addition, Senior VP — Creative Director Richard Bruning will be in Chicago, as will VP — Design & Retail Product Development Georg Brewer.

DC will host a number of panels at the convention, including:

Friday, August 13
10:00am-10:45am: DC Comics Talent Search Orientation Session. This informative Orientation session will explain how DC’s Talent Search will work. In order to have your work reviewed, attendance at this orientation session is mandatory — not all attendees are guaranteed a review.
11am-12pm: WildStorm: Comics Unplugged. Find out what’s on the agenda from WildStorm Productions in this exciting slide presentation. Join Scott Dunbier, Executive Editor — WildStorm and talent including J. Scott Campbell (GEN13, DANGER GIRL) who announces his new project here, Brian K. Vaughan (EX MACHINA) and others!
3:30pm-4:30pm: The Jim and Alex Show. Learn all about Jim Lee and Alex Ross in this Q & A panel. Discover what they have in store in this session hosted by Dan DiDio, DC’s VP — Editorial.

Saturday, August 14
10:00am-10:45am: DC Comics Talent Search Orientation Session. See description above.
11am-12pm: DC: Mapping the Universe. Join superstars including Brian Azzarello (SUPERMAN, 100 BULLETS), Geoff Johns (THE FLASH, JSA, TEEN TITANS), Tommy Lee Edwards (THE QUESTION), Carlos Pacheco (SUPERMAN/BATMAN) and others along with your hosts, Dan DiDio, DC's VP — Editorial and Bob Wayne, DC's VP — Sales & Marketing, for a special slide show presentation!
3:30pm-4:30pm: Green Lantern: One Hal of a Comeback. Discover what writer Geoff Johns and artists Ethan Van Sciver (THE FLASH: IRON HEIGHTS) and Carlos Pacheco (SUPERMAN/BATMAN) have in store for the Emerald Gladiator with Senior Editor Peter Tomasi.
5pm-6pm: J. Scott Campbell: Looking Ahead. J. Scott Campbell (GEN13, DANGER GIRL) sits down for a chat with Scott Dunbier, Executive Editor — WildStorm.

SUNDAY, August 15
11am-12pm: Superman/Batman: A Team Effort. Group Editor Eddie Berganza corrals writer Jeph Loeb (tentative), artist Carlos Pacheco and others.
2:30-3:30pm: Vertigo: The Next Ten Years. Learn what mind-blowing projects are in store for you in this slide-show presentation with guests Brian Azzarello (100 BULLETS), Brian K. Vaughan (Y: THE LAST MAN) Jill Thompson (DEATH: AT DEATH’S DOOR), Peter Gross (LUCIFER) and more, hosted by Patricia Jeres, DC’s Director — Sales & Marketing Communications and Jonathan Vankin, Editor — Vertigo and writer of THE WITCHING.
