An Effort To Support Our Independent Heroes

Terminal Press projects to support ACTOR and CBLDF

Long Beach, NY -- June 9, 2005 - Independent Publisher Terminal Press is making an effort to benefit both industry veterans and future generations of comic creators with the creation of Independent Hero.

Their mission is to provide support to charities who protect our freedom and those who came before us, while creating an opportunity for up and coming comic creators to publish their work and contribute to the comic book industry.

Several products, including Reminderbands and T-shirts will be available for purchase through independenthero.com and in select retail locations with profits going to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, A.C.T.O.R. and the funding of an Independent Creator's comic title. Independent Hero will be accepting submissions through their website. A panel of comic creators will choose a submission, with a final vote by the comic fans. The chosen title will be printed and marketed by Terminal Press under the Independent Hero Imprint with profits once again going to CBLDF, A.C.T.O.R. and the selected comic's creative team.

Terminal Press owner, Independent Hero founder and comic creator Brian Ferrara's comment on this endeavor is, "I feel a responsibility to do whatever we can to help strengthen this industry, especially within the Independent Market. By giving time and effort to raise funds for two very worthy charities, while providing an opportunity for more independent creators to publish their work, I hope to raise awareness, do something positive and see others follow suit. If everyone decided to give a little bit back, we could ensure that this industry would thrive enough to be around for future generations to discover and enjoy."

More information, including submission guidelines, will be available at independenthero.com in the coming weeks. Terminal Press will be promoting Independent Hero at this summer's San Diego and Wizard World Chicago Comic Conventions, where donations will be accepted and Reminderbands will be on sale.
